95 Points Wine Enthusiast: "Gleaming black-cherry and plum flavors pulsate through this rich, penetrating blend of Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%) sourced from rocky limestone and marl soil. It's a dark, sultry wine offset by tangs of salty minerality and firm, gripping tannins. This vibrant red should improve through 2030 and hold further."
Cépages: 70% Grenache - 30% Syrah
Tasting Notes:The union of strength, represented by the maturity of the fruit, and delicacy, through subtle menthol notes, composes a remarkable bouquet. The palate, of rare elegance, reveals itself to be ample, deep and very fresh. A distinguished Gigondas, a perfect illustration of its vintage.
From The Winery: Producers in the Rhône Valley (Roucas de Saint-Pierre, Hauts de Mercurol, Michel Poinard) and in Côte de Nuits, the Chéron family, originally from Burgundy, has been running this vast 72 ha estate (including 48 hectares of vines) in the shape of an amphitheater since 1981, established at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, on its southern slope. A very consistent estate in quality, whether for its Gigondas, its Vacqueyras or its Beaume-de-Venise.
