Cépage: 100% Mencía (Merenzao)

Tasting Notes: Deep purple color, aromas of ripe red fruit and minerals. Inherent complexity. Not in the slightest a light wine, perhaps just the opposite—the finish is long and captivating. Absence of oak allows the full expression of Mencia to shine through.  Unoaked.

Estate vineyards on either side of the Sil River near Rubiá, the highest village in D.O. Valdeorras.

• Altitude: 550 meters
• Exposure: East and Northwest
• Soils: Slate on one side of the river, Chalk/clay on the other side
• Vine Age: 70% over 18 years; 30% over 35 years
• Vine Training System: Trellis with double cordon pruning
• No herbicides used
