Cépages: 80% Merlot - 15% Cabernet Sauvignon - 5% Cabernet-Franc
Tasting Notes: Château la Govinière appears sparklingly clear in the glass with a beautiful, ruby red color. The aroma is classic Bordeaux with clean notes of fresh fruit. The taste is round and persistent. The high content of Merlot helps to give the wine a soft style with silky tannins and a fresh and round finish.
From The Château: The Château is located in the Bordeaux commune of Lussac Saint-Émilion, 9 km northeast of the city of Saint-Émilion and 13 km northeast of the old market town of Libourne. Château la Govinière is run by Carine and Olivier Charpentier, who are the 4th generation of the château.
Winemaking: Château la Govinières fields cover an area of 16 hectares with a clay soil. The harvest takes place mechanically at the end of September, and the vinification then takes place traditionally. The aging takes place in traditional cement tanks with temperature control.
