Tasting Notes: A very intense ruby red color with garnet highlights that appear as the wine ages; the nose is complex, with aromas of violets, candied red fruits, vanilla, and spicy notes. It's best to decant it half an hour before serving. It pairs perfectly with meat dishes from the Abruzzo region, especially lamb, but also with roast or braised veal and aged cheeses.
Terroir: The high luminosity and deep soils, rich in silt and limestone pebbles, favor optimal ripening of the grapes and give wines rich in flavor and aromas.
From The Winery: The winery was founded in 1971 by 110 members to cooperatively process the prized grapes of local winemakers: mostly small family-run businesses dedicated to tending the countryside with passion and expertise passed down through generations, often with a mixed cultivation approach: viticulture, olive growing, and horticulture, and for this reason also without their own winemaking cellar.
