Tasting Notes: The Saint-Joseph Blanc Saut de l’Ange by Pierre Jean Villa is a refined and complex specimen that captures the essence of the Rhone Valley terroir. With a brilliant golden color and greenish reflections, this wine exudes an aromatic bouquet featuring notes of white-fleshed fruit, such as peach and pear, enriched by hints of white flowers and a light touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is rich and enveloping, with a perfect balance between freshness and a creamy structure that allows for a long and pleasantly complex aromatic persistence.

Aging:Like the Condrieu, some 50% of this is raised in foudre, 25% in neutral demi-muids, and 25% in clay jars. Normally, this is bottled without filtration.

Terroir: From a small parcel on a very steep, terraced hillside named ‘Saut de l’Ange’ (Angel’s Leap)
that ends in a cliff above the winery in the northernmost section of the appellation totaling 1.5 acres.
