Tasting Notes: Blue notes of flowers and fruit complicate the bees wax and linen that we typically smell on the aromas of this transparent white wine. The warmth of 2024 can be tasted in the density of fruit and long silky finish, but the telltale delicate acidity and mouthwatering freshness that we expect still remain due to the cold nights in the Mendocino mountains. Long and savory, this is intense and filled with flavor and a dramatic 180 degree turn from the quiet and delicate 2023 from this same vineyard.

From The Winery: The incomparable Alder Springs Vineyard is one of California’s most iconic vineyard sites.  Perched high above the tiny northern California town of Laytonville, this patchwork of lieu-dits is more reminiscent of the great vineyards of the Rhone Valley than anything in California. Amongst all of the amazing Syrah, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay there are a couple of blocks of Chenin Blanc planted in decomposed sandstone.
