Pax Mahle Chardonnay 2022 Sonoma Coast

Tasting Notes: Chalk, white peach, white pear, nectarine and sea air. Bright, focused, and alive this wine carries its texture and weight effortlessly.  The palate is richly textured and supple with decadent yellow fruits, but it is the salt, sand and chalk that keep the focus. Salty and satisfying, this Chardonnay is purely Californian but undeniably a coastal wine that is framed by its cool climate verve.

From The Winery: Rocky Rhyolite filled soils, high elevation and surrounded by majestic one hundred year-old Pepperwood Trees, the vineyard source for this wine is one of the most dramatic Chardonnay plantings we have seen on the California Coast.  Primarily from the Mt Eden clone,  this block shows the richness of the lower parts of the vineyard while showing the chalky, salty characteristics that make this site so unique.
