From The Winery: Father Juan Crespí (1721-1782), a Franciscan missionary and Spanish explorer, arrived in southern California in 1767. Commissioned to travel the California coast in search of ideal locations for missions, Father Crespí passed through many of today’s well-known premier wine-growing regions and ultimately made his home in the Monterey area.
Crespi Ranch Cellars admires Father Crespí’s pioneering spirit and celebrates it by crafting wines
from the land that resonated with him during his travels. The delicate climate dierences and unique
soils that Monterey oers embody the style and elegance found in burgundy and reflect the distinct
characteristics of the New World.
