Tasting Notes:It displays an intense ruby color, with aromas and flavors of wild berries, some smokiness, and a hint of dark chocolate. Well-structured, smooth, and long.
From The Winery:The Tagus, Portugal's largest river, has always been associated with the production of quality wines. The city of Lisbon was traditionally its largest market, and until the mid-20th century, the river also served as the main route for bringing wines produced in these lands to the capital. The region is divided into three major terroirs: the so-called "bairro," on the right bank of the Tagus, extending northward, with clay and limestone soils; the "charneca," on the left bank, stretching southward to the Alentejo, where sandy soils dominate; and the "campo," or lezíria, consisting of low-lying, fertile, alluvial lands along both banks of the river. Parras Wines has winemaking and storage facilities in the town of Gouxa, Almeirim— the heart of the Tagus.
